Autologous fat transfer is a procedure in which fat is removed from one part of the body via liposuction and then transfered to other parts, such as face, breasts or butt.
Fat makes an excellent soft tissue filler because it produces very natural looking results without any allergic reactions. This procedure can have longer lasting results than popular biodegradable alternatives. Generally, some of the injected fat is absorbed in the treated area and stays for at least a year, or sometimes longer, while the rest dissipates over a period of 6-9 months.
Fat Tranfer to butt is performed under general anesthetic and is relatively straightforward. The fat is harvested, then filtered and specially prepared for injection. Finally, the fat is injected in the subcutaneous tissue of the chosen area.
The first 2 weeks after the surgery patients should avoid sitting down for long time. Baths and swimming pool ought to be avoided for 1 month after the surgery.
